Looking for a long range choke tube.

Been looking at Patternmaster Long range, Kicks High Flyer X-Full, HEvishot extended range.

WHat are your opinions on these. What do you recomend.

We would be hunting open water. I will be either using HEvishot or Remington Wingmaster(which ever patterns best out of my gun). Hunting mostly mallards. Which shot size should I use? I was thinking #2s?

Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Colton

I am turned away from Patternmaster because i dont believe it would work the best with 4s and 2s. still looking at th e hevishot tubes though. They look promising.

I have a set on order.

The constrictions, at least for my Browning Inv+, are ImpMod and full.

I will pattern them when I receive them, but don't know for certain when that will be.

Carlson is the one’s I use for myself and family. Most of them are .710”, .705” and .700” and cover just about anything we can use through them. I have used the Rem Wingmaster (it really was bad through all 9 guns I shot it though, I sold it for a lot less then I got it for), Hevi-shot (4,5,6 with good results) but what really got it shooting great was Black Cloud and it was really awesome.

what do you think, 4s or 2s in Hevigoose(or Wingmaster HD) for pass shooting?
and
Hevimetal BB or BBB for shots out to 50 or so?

I have Carlson for my Mossberg but Black Cloud would not pattern good at all for me.
I get great patterns with Hevi-shot and metal.
Never shot Wingmaster.
I have hit Geese with 2 3/4 #2 Hevi-Shot at 40 yards and they were d.o.a. before they hit the ground. The #2 is what i use.

I hunt~
Carlson designed tubes specfically for Hevi Shot, they have a "turkey" choke sportin .665 constriction if you are looking for a basket ball pattern @ 40yds.3" duces in either hevi duck or goose loads does the job out to 60yds (outof my benelli) even with a factory mod choke.

IMPO Carlson makes a quality choke,I've chatted with Mike Carlson a few years back, stand up guy, stands behind his product as well,if he sends you a tube and are not completely satisfied, return it.

I do some field tesing for briley chokes, started years ago shooting trap and now sporting clays,I found that their extended range, reverse porting with straight rifling extended choke does a # on mallards, honkers and snows out to 65yds.

Just be mindful if your running different brands of shot through one choke, hevi shot can be run through tighter constriction chokes than steel and Black Cloud should not be shot through ported tubes.

FYI
